the writer’s transformation project

what is the writer’s transformation project?

The Writer’s Transformation Project is a unique five-month coaching program that transforms your relationship to writing and helps you embrace and achieve your lifelong writing dreams.

what happens in the program?

The Writer’s Transformation Project includes both tailored one-on-one coaching sessions and monthly seminars with the other writers in your cohort.

Each month in the program, you’ll receive:

    • four one-on-one coaching sessions to fuel insight, motivation, and inspiration, and help you overcome tough moments in the writing process. In these sessions, you also receive insightful feedback on your work-in-progress and guidance as you develop your story (or, if you’re further along in the process, as you revise and prepare for publication.)

    • one seminar in which you meet with the other writers in your cohort for craft talks, workshops, and/or author visits

    • unlimited email support from me

    • access to a private online community where you connect and chat with the other Writer’s Transformation Project writers throughout the five-month program.

At the program’s end, I host a celebratory graduation reading, where each writer shares a short excerpt of their work in a room full of friends, family, and supporters.

The Writer’s Transformation Project happens twice a year, with one session running from April–August and one session running from October–February. The program cost is $5000, or $1050 per month.

tell me more!

At the start of the program:

  • You clarify your biggest writing goals and identify the challenges that have been holding you back from reaching them.

  • I help you develop an inspiring and practical plan to begin attaining your lifelong writing goals over the next five months.

  • You meet the other members of your cohort and share about your writing goals.

During the program:

  • I act as your coach, mentor, and devoted ally—someone who is deeply invested in your success and committed to helping you implement the steps to writing success.

  • I offer developmental feedback on your work, as well as guidance through the emotional and psychological challenges of writing.

  • You meet monthly with your cohort for group seminars, which can take the form of craft talks, writing workshops, and/or author visits.

By the conclusion of the program:

  • You will have developed seriously as a writer and seen significant, tangible results emerge from your sustained efforts.

  • You will have formed close bonds with the writers in your cohort and connected with a writing community that extends far beyond the confines of the coaching program.

  • You will have moved out of the “Am I really a writer?” mindset and embraced writing as your identity, becoming energized and inspired to share your work with an audience.

I feel more confident as a writer now — in part because I got more publications during the program, but also because of all I’ve learned. I think you can see in my writing how much my process has developed.”

“The weekly sessions were terrific, in particular the focus on goal-setting — setting weekly goals and clarifying the steps to accomplish them. This routine made me develop better habits and kept me accountable.”

your investment

The fee for The Writer’s Transformation Project is $5000 for the entire program, or $1050 per month. (Returning clients will remain at their existing fall 2023 rates).

Since this coaching program requires a significant investment, it’s best suited for writers who are ready to make a sustained commitment to their writing development over the next five months.

Lindsay McKenna

what I’m proudest of achieving in this program is the mindset shift. I used to feel like writing was something I always wanted to do but never buckled down and did. now i know with absolute certainty that I will complete my novel and become a published author.

what makes it special?

The Writer’s Transformation Project gives you an opportunity to seriously pursue your writing goals, develop significantly as a writer, and take large steps toward your lifelong writing dreams.

Although writers often think of an MFA program as the only path towards seriously pursuing writing, the Writer’s Transformation Project offers a unique alternative learning model.

Through the Writer’s Transformation Project, you get access to a structured course of study that is tailored to your specific writing needs and flexible enough to fit your lifestyle, even if you work full-time or are raising a family.

You also become connected to a community of like-minded writers, forming literary connections that last long after the program’s end.
