emily bloom’s memoir sold to st. martin’s press

I am beyond delighted to announce that Emily Bloom has sold her memoir “I Cannot Control Everything Forever: A Memoir of Motherhood, Science, and Art” to St. Martin’s Press.

  • Emily attended the Writing From Memory workshop at the beginning of the pandemic and shared early chapters of her book with me for feedback in the year that followed. She snagged an agent for herself in late 2021 and just a few months later sold the book to St. Martin’s.

  • From Publisher’s Marketplace: Public humanities fellow at Sarah Lawrence College Emily Bloom’s I CANNOT CONTROL EVERYTHING FOREVER, a memoir and narrative history of pregnancy and genetics, examining the uncertainties that accompany scientific advances and the ability of art and literature to provide comfort when technology cannot, to Anna DeVries at St. Martin’s, by Laura Usselman at Stuart Krichevsky Agency.
