betty scott’s story accepted by Sunflowers at midnight

Huge congrats to Betty Scott, whose story about growing up in India in the 1960’s was just accepted by Sunflowers at Midnight magazine!

Betty’s piece is an excerpt from her memoir and her very first literary publication. When she started submitting pieces to magazines, she told me it was “mostly for practice,” to understand the submission process better, and that she wasn’t expecting anything to come out of it. But I was not surprised at all when this “practice” led to a pretty quick story acceptance! Betty’s writing is so vivid and visceral that you feel transported to India with her.

Congratulations, Betty! I can’t wait to see what you’ll write and publish next.
